To bring in the new year we were going to paint our selves(our outline) "NEW" with glow stick juice but Kylie painted daddy as a Dalmatian, Kylie looked styling by me, and Chris ... well let's just say Chris painted the creepiest thing ever! If you watch the tv series "The Mentalist" it looked a lot something like that. We had so much fun Kylie was not happy to quit, but that's what you get when you keep a kid up till midnight!

We reenacted the nativity of coarse my kid had a tantrum through it. Yeah!!

Then we stopped by Grandma and Grandpa Kents for dinner, gifts, and Naomi's amazing pumpkin pie.

and then you hit my favorite moment of December!

Now first off I'm warning you this is two fuddy-duddy's with a two year old at midnight Christmas Eve night/ Christmas day with a whole lot of sugar!

We just got home and I so desperately wanted to decorate cookies with Kylie to set them out for Santa so we did.

Nerd! Right! Oh i love it!

Yah, were cool!

Christmas Morning Grandma & Grandpa Pettey came to watch Kylie open gifts and I wish I had more but my kid will not look up but is an excellent unwrap-per!

I am 27 years old! CRAZY!? Anywho now that thats over,

Every year for my Birthday, we hit the lights at Temple Square most years it has snowed right around my birthday but not this year, nope, it was just really really cold! Because of the cold My Dad gave us the quickest tour of the lights i've seen, but it was a lot of fun. One thing I did not plan well, I am not a cake fan so for my birthday cake I brought up a box of See's Chocolate's come to find out cold and carmel or soft centers don't mix well almost broke everyone's teeth oops!

So I have a really sweet amazing sister in law who on her blog has been writing everyday up to Thanksgiving what she's grateful for. I didn't think anything about may be telling others what I'm grateful for until today!

This morning I was able to get Kylie distracted upstairs by coloring. While Kylie colored I started my routine cleaning. I pulled out the vacuum and turned it on. One minute into vacuuming I hear a BIG thud! turned off the vacuum looked over and there was Kylie's vacuum at the bottom of the stairs and a little very determined voice exclaiming "Here I Come ... here I Come" I couldn't help but smile quite largely! My little one dropped everything she was doing to push around a pink dead battery operated vacuum to help her Mom! After that I couldn't help but think about the many GRATEFUL things this November has brought into my life and well if you continue reading this entry your going to hear about my November grateful Moments:

First I'm going to start off cheesy, and say I am grateful for every moment with my man, Chris! That kid, oh-wee he makes my heart melt like butter! and he's not even that romantic! hehe! but he makes every moment a crack up which I guess does it for me! Thanks Chris'e for always taking good care of your girls!

Next moment would be Kylie and I tearing down a little hill sitting on skateboards for hours. A moment that you wish could happen everyday!

I'm going to get a little spiritual on ya, but yes had some really great spiritual moments this month that I hope I can keep inviting in my life and keep it going!

I am Grateful for My Mom, Sisters, Greg and a dressing room! My Mom took three of here girls out for a birthday shopping trip and it was SO much fun and relaxing a big thanks to Greg who watched my kid!! I can't remember the last time we went out us girls! Unfortunately, I think my mom spent way to much money, but it was fun to just laugh in a crowded dressing room!

I am Grateful for our good night routine I love Eskimo kissing Kylie and Chris every night!

I am uber thankful for the few missionaries letters I get to read and the touch of spirit they bring to the day also a big you rock to the family's for sharing!

I am thankful for a really great voice mail message that I needed to hear and the words meant alot. so thanks!

Oh dear, I'm getting a little to sentimental! Sorry I'll try and tone it down!

I am grateful to my niece Bryn for teaching Kylie to say "Yes your Majesty" and curtsy, I am starting to feel pretty dang important!

I am Grateful for a father-in-law who checks up on you while the husband is out being a mighty hunter.

Grateful for a brother who doesn't get embarrassed when you laugh to the point of tears at a really enthusiastic half time show at a BYU game. And doesn't mind the fact that he has to hang out with just you!

Grateful to see my kid and my best friend's kid play together every week.

Grateful for my nursery class! They have the best comments! For instance I learned that the picture I was holding up was not a house but a bungalow. Who'd a thought right! So I had to change thanking our heavenly father in family prayer for our homes to thanking him for the bungalow!

Well If you haven't figured it out I am one lucky duck and I owe it all to everyone I know so I am grateful for YOU! thanks for being someone I can call a true friend even though I hardly ever see you. I know you all have my back and I want you to know anything you need don't hesitate to ask! Love ya!

Last week we decided to go to the zoo, luckily for us Melissa had her new little one so Emery joined us. The Only Picture's Emery would look at me was with the statue like animals. Melissa you've ruined her! although I'm pretty sure Kylie will be the same way the rate I'm going with picture taking!

My two fav's were the Elephants and the Giraffes.

I found it fitting that my kid would be considered as a juvenile ape.

So the most surprising thing is Emery's first pick out of all the carousal's animals was a praymantis. A praymantis really? I convinced her to ride the cool snow leopard but Chris the cool uncle let her ride the creepy praymantis and she hugged it the whole ride.

On Monday Melissa My sister had Kylie's new cousin Nora. A 4 pound 7 ounce, 16 inches long baby girl! Kylie and I were lucky to spend a day with Emery (Nora's big sister) while Melissa and Greg came home from the hospital. I tried to take some photos while we played at the park but both girls didn't want there pictures taken. When it came time to bring Emery home, Kylie and Emery swarmed the new baby both fighting to be the one to love her the most!

Well you all know how my little one is spoiled,

I try to live up to that so for a whole week we celebrated Kylie's second Birthday!

My parents have a time share up at Snow Bird

so we got the whole Schow family up there to celebrate Kylie turning TWO!

Kylie's Birthday!

Now I've got to through a props in to Chris and I for not braking and giving Kylie her kitchen earlier we bought this on Black friday last year and it's been sitting in our garage haunting us! so way ta go babe!

and that day Grandpa Mike, Grandpa Russ, and Grandma Keiko came over and played kitchen so I am pretty sure she had the best Birthday week ever!

Camping at Ferron

For the Pettey Family Reunion, every year we go camping at Ferron Reservoir. It was absolutely beautiful minus the tons of thousands of mosquitoes eating us alive. (I say that but Kylie didn't have a single bite! I had 5. and Chris well we stopped counting!)

Our Camping Trip consist of:

Kylie and I sharing a single sleeping bag(that's not happening again!)

Playing Games(Speaking of which, Shane I'm still in awh at that winning card!)

Wood Tick Point- where the whole family has carved there name in a tree and every year we go back add another year that we've been there.

Celebrating the 24th in Beaver

We visited Grandma and celebrated the 24th the Beaver way.

Also we were celebrating I and Chris's 7 year anniversary!

Wo, 7 years way to stick it out with me babe!

Started with one of those small town parades where you wonder if these kids have parents because the kids are running right up to the vehicles just to get a piece of salt water taffy. CRAZY!!

Then we went back to Grandma's to four wheel around.

Next headed with a worn out kid to the horse races; ate a Carmel apple and only stayed for two races. Kylie's horse 'Cowboys R Easy' won the first race and I won the second with a good ole' horse named 'thru a wall'!

Back at Grandma's Kylie fell in love with a little red wagon.

Because we wouldn't see Grandma on Kylie's birthday, Kylie got to open her Birthday Present;

I love her process (Yes, I know I have issue's with taking w-a-y to many pictures)!

and to end the day we watched the fireworks!

Like every year we had to hit the Strawberry Day's Rodeo! Last year Kylie loved the rodeo, this year um... not so much. She preferred to be on the ground by the cattle and horses and when we were in our seats she was looking underneath the bleachers talking to the cattle below. Unfortunately I only took these two pictures and missed Kylie looking smoking cute in her new cowgirl boots.

Every year we also hit the Strawberry Day's Parade.

What we never hit is the carnival after wards.

Kylie's favorite of course is the carousal,

a close second was this dragon that went up high. I am just glad she didn't fall out!

'Kent' Get Enough!

Over the weekend Great Grandma Kent and Uncle Bruce came to town to visit. I absolutely adore the Kent Family the most happy and relaxed family you'll ever meet! And like every time we go to Grandpa Mike's House we play in his drag racing car and play Frisbee with Cruise. It was a nice and relaxing day! I wish they'd come to visit more often! Hint Hint!

That's who I Am, a Schow!

I found when it comes to Memorial Day your usually one of two types. a "Let's go camping/Vacation " or "Let's go visit the graves" for the Schow clan it's tradition to visit the graves! It's not what you usually want to do on your day off, however you forget how much you love to hear the stories of your ancestors or how much you needed to just say "hi, I miss you". Truth be told I didn't want to go this year, it would be the first Memorial Day since my Grandpa a.k.a. Horse Papa had past on and he's the one who tells the stories. As much as we'll all missed grandpa, my aunt and uncle's really did a great job making it a memorable family get together.

Kylie along with all the Schow great grand kids got to hold a balloon, then they were asked to hug and kiss the balloon after that they were asked to release the balloon sending their love to Horse Papa. Boy did Kylie love that!

She played bouncy ball on the graves with her cousin Bryant. Boy did she love that!

She got to tickle and then pose with statue's. for some reason she loved that!

and Last the kids and a few adults, couldn't control there love for the bouncy slide which was full of giggles and the adults yelling "wait! wait! wait!" cause let's face it, who waits for the kid below to move when you could be sliding! and boy did Kylie LOVE that!

It's the Little Things!

have become so meaningful and so important to have each day.

The Little things consist of:

PATS not the he or she name but a gentle little hand patting you to let you know i love you!

KNUCKLES or HIGH FIVE letting you know your cool!

"SEE YA" or "BYE" it truly was good to see you.

FAMILY HUGS no matter how busy or irritated you are at your spouse when family hugs come around you are not missing out!

singing "BRUSH YOUR TEETH" and tooth paste slobber kisses.

PLAY NAP TIME every day you have to pretend to sleep it's really hard to do when you really want to be.

CALLING ANIMALS whether its a bird, cat, dog, fish they will be called with clapping of the hands, and when they don't come when asked a curious look will be given.

CELL PHONE LINGO yes she's a gibber gabbier

BABIES we have too swoon over every baby we see.

BOO! any moment of every day!

TAGGIE loving the taggie very important part of the day!

SHOES walking in Daddy's shoe's Mommy's shoe's and Kylie's shoes.

PURSES she has to carry one every where!

DRIVING CARS hers, Moms, Dads, Grandpa's Race car.

and the usual chores that Mom can't do with out Kylie's help sweeping, stirring, vacuuming, feeding puppy, folding clothes ...

The Bean Museum is the best thing for rainy day's!

Kylie loves the museum however I think she is a little to used to Grandpa's house where she's allowed to pet the animals. Setta's favorite is between the bears and the gift shop, I think the gift shop wins most days!

So you never really appreciate what your Mom does till you have a kid yourself, and I only have one kid, how my mom did it with seven is beyond me. The amazing part I have never seen my mom angry, not once did she lose her temper! Mom extraordinaire, that is who she is!

Thanks Mom for everything!

On side note Kylie wanted to really celebrate Mother's Day, so we started the celebration early, 1:30 a.m. early! We played Easter Egg hunt for a hour and half and then watched Cinderella twice!

Thanks for the sweet reminder that I'm so lucky to be a Mom kiddo!

After dying eggs I asked Kylie to hold one up for a picture, in that process she dropped the egg figuring out that ooh eggs crack and then you couldn't keep an egg in her hand without her chucking it!

Kylie loved finding Easter eggs left by the Easter bunny one of my favorite moments is when we pulled up to My Mom's house Brin comes running up Screaming like a teenage bopper

"THE EASTER BUNNY CAME"

Screams of excitement make it so much thrilling don't you think!

Not only was it Easter but it would have been my brother Andrew's 34th Birthday, So the family got together to tell him how grateful for the time we had together on this earth.

Kylie got a stuff animal from our friends in Germany and she loves it!

For Christmas Grandma and Grandpa spoiled us with a trip to Hawaii and boy were we spoiled it was an amazing trip although traveling with a kid is a whole different experience.

A fish named Kylie! Kylie's favorite part was being in the ocean not the sand where the waves would crash over but the waist deep ocean. ever time the wave would hit she giggle like some one was tickling her. If not the ocean it was the pool at the end of the trip we had her putting her own face in the water.

On my first trip we got me a pearl so we decided to get Kylie her first pearl and boy what a beautiful pearl she got. So first of all we picked out an oyster she tapped it three times yelled out Aloha well she didn't we did! and they opened it up she got a dark blue with a pink shine to it. it's BEAU-TI-FUL!

We surly will miss the sand in every crack, the many sea creatures, the beautiful sunsets and the daily virgin Pina colada's!

I Will Truley Miss You, Horse Papa

Have you ever had an event happen in your life which your so grateful for but underneath in your selfish heart you never ever wanted it to happen? Well that happened in March for me, My 92 yr to Grandpa returned to heaven to hold his dear sweet heart in his arms after 15 years apart. Seeing how heart broken I am you'd think I wasn't expecting it to happen but I've been talking about his returning home with him for quiet some time. When I found out I was Pregnant I made a deal with my Horse Papa that he had to stay alive till I got a picture of him and Kylie together, if he could hold his side of the deal then I would pray every night for him to return to his father in heaven. Gratefully he did and I have mentioned him in my prayers every night. When he took a turn for the worst Chris, Kylie, and I went to say good bye there he and Kylie blew kisses to each other I held his hand told him how much he's meant to me and reminded him when he gets up there to give my brother Andrew a big hug and tell him how much I miss him, his reply "I know you've already told me!" I think why it's so hard to lose a man like him is because he is the only perfect person on this earth today in my eye's no flaws what so ever and now that perfection who gave you strength every time you talked with him is gone. Russell Schow who was he, well he was a man who truly could pray ever word he said was meant, He served in the air force where he was a barber for his comrades and when stationed in India he took a guide to go hunting for tigers but ended up sleeping in a head hunters village, raised Arabian horses, rode as Uncle Sam in the Strawberry day's parade till he was 87 years old, he always took the time to play with his grand kids never a dull moment and last but not least a man who truly loved his wife and missed her dearly. He was escorted to the cemetery by horse and glass cart it was really something to see. well Grandpa I love you and miss you terribly thanks for being an incredible human being.

Trick or Treat!

First we headed to the Pumpkin Patch. Now it was pretty easy picking out our pumpkins we just waited for Kylie to walk over and kiss one, did I say kiss I meant slobber!

I had to slip a picture of my small decorated door in because after six years of marriage Chris and I finally decorated for my favorite Halloween!

I was all excited to see Kylie dig into the guts after all she loved these pumpkins however this is all we got she wanted nothing to do with it. I forgot to get a picture of our works of art but our pumpkins were the most amazing pumpkins you'll ever see I'm so sorry you missed out on the master pieces of pumpkintry.

Now I know were dorks we went as a theme but it was a lot of fun. If you can't tell Kylie was Little Red Riding Hood (now I have method behind my madness of picking her costume Kylie refuses to wear anything on her head these days and I couldn't find a costume with out a head piece or think of anything else however she made a freakin cute Little Red!), k I know what your thinking I look like a brown rabbit but no I was the Big Bad Wolf I wore a tail so I think I deserve some major props, and Chris our tough cookie the Axe Man tied it all together. Kylie was really funny trick or treating either she wanted to keep putting the treats in her basket or she take treats out and hand them to those she was trick or treating. Her favorite was handing out the candy to the kids I don't think she's ever had so many people come visit her it was so exciting.

Disney Land!

Chris and I had the opportunity to go to Disney Land with my parents and my sister Melissa and her family. We had so much fun even with the rain. Poor Mom had a cold, Impressive Dad made it through three days at the park in Cowboy boots!, Greg claimed the title of "Favorite Uncle", Melissa won sole survivor putting up with me and the boys picking on her, Carson and Bry went on some impressive rides, Emery was the cutest Sleeping Beauty at the park and marked the first memorable moment of the trip after we got off the first ride Peter Pan Emery state's "That was Incredible!", Chris the amazing husband he is went on Splash Mountain twice for our last ride of the trip even though it was a cold night, I have an addiction to Churro's and Peter Pan still hold the best ride Ever, even though you have to wait for a half hour for a two and half minute ride(Greg timed it), and Kylie we found out screams for the Disney Character's yet pushes them away in fright when she gets up close, she LOVED the Merry-Go-Round, Its a Small World, and Dumbo she kept screaming "weeee". Kylie also got to see the beach for the first time she loved it but it was cold!!

Sorry Chris you may have won the bet, but Kylie's definitely not into your team!

Very Un-Birthday to Kylie!

Yep, my little girl just turned one! I know it sounds sappy but I'm so very grateful to have Kylie especially for a whole year! How in the heck did I get so lucky? She's absolutely perfect! Well for her Un-Birthday we threw a delightfully Mad Tea Party night before. Kylie successfully tore through the wrapping paper enjoyed every gift and could have eaten cake all night, if I would of let her. At the party all the girls wore flowers and the boy's Bow ties just incase you were wondering why we matched. We had the whole family there. The Schow's, the Hart's, the Kent's and the Pettey's. Unfortunately I really only have pictures of the Pettey family but I know my Sister took more so thanks Meliss. A big thanks to my Mom and Dad for all there help. Happy Birthday Miyo you mean the world to your dad and me.

Can you believe it Chris and I just celebrated SIX YEARS TOGETHER! Not bad for a couple of kids eh! Chris took Kylie and me to St George and Beaver. In St George we went swimming and swimming and oh yah swimming which was all we wanted to do. Kylie really made our anniversary dinner special she was able to throw her biggest fit I've ever seen. But it's memorable! Then we went to beaver for the 24th boy do they know how to celebrate first you had the parade which wasn't just a parade it was extreme heat & chaos with candy, cheese and plants thrown into the crowds Yes you heard right flower plants!?! then they had a carnival for the die hards which were not us so we went and had lunch at grandma's but quickly joined in the fun at the Horse Races the some how legal betting Horse Races!?! I really enjoyed them except Kylie was extremely tired however the very few minutes they were running she was in heaven cheering along clapping it was way cute. If Mike(Chris's Dad), Chris and I were to put any money on the game Chris would of cleaned us out. He guessed every horse right! and after the races for those enthusiast which usually I am one they had a rodeo but Kylie was desperately in need of a nap. And to end the trip with a bang we watched my favorite, fireworks! luckily for me Kylie is just like me (oh dear is right) she loves fireworks too so daddy's got so much fun ahead of him! all a round pretty great first Family trip! Thanks Babe!

We went to Norah our niece's first birthday Party and Kylie loved it she especially loved Tristan's Lawn mower. I don't know what was more enjoyable Kylie getting mad that she couldn't touch the fish in the pond, seeing a one year old tear into a piece of cake and a scoop of ice cream or convincing Tristan to get his dad with the watering can.

Kylie's first camping trip was the Pettey reunion up at Ferron. One thing Chris I have learned is how were losing our mind. 1st thought remember to turn off AC when pulling a trailer up the mountains. However the other things we learned had a more positive reaction like the fact that Kylie loved four wheeling, her Boy cousins make her laugh, and her cousin learned she loves their attention. the highlight for me was the camp fire serenade and getting my trashed kicked at pirates dice, well played boy's well played. Since we over heated and Kylie hates being confined to her car seat we played in and out of the Truck.

Her newest thing is her amazing attention to detail. She received a doll for Christmas which has eyelashes that move up and down. Well if you can move a doll's lashes can't you move everybody Else's? You may have thought getting poked in the eye is bad wait till my kid pinches your eye not pleasant!

The big tradition is bottle rockets. I can't believe the ideas the kids came up with to decorate the rockets in hopes theirs went the farthest. I thought Kylie would get a kick out of the rockets but she was more infatuated with the dirt and her dump truck.

I figured I already let her play in the dirt might as well let her play in the mud things went good till she wanted to blow bubbles in the water and Mom wouldn't let her.

She thinks she's cool! but she's just a big nerd!

I also forgot that after camping for a few days I hate getting my picture taken but this and the four wheeler the only family shots we got.

For My nephew's Birthday we played Baseball. unfortunately I don't have many photo's of the brutal game. Yes, it was brutal I think i figured out where my family's competitiveness comes from! Mom & Dad! My Dad almost took out my Mom twice with the Ball, I think he got her once in the knee! I wasn't to smart I wore my Etnies which came flying off as I ran to first tripping over the shoes but was safe with a few rocks in the knee. Kylie and the nieces were great cheer leaders. in the end every one had a great time. Happy Birthday Carson!

We were headed to the Strawberry Day's Rodeo, Kylie in her home made skirt (Yes, I made it with the help of my talented Mom)(and Yes, she did all they hard parts!) and her Cowboy boots so we took advantage stopped at the neighbors home and took some Fathers Day Pic's. They sure turned out cute. I got a kick out of Kylie at the rodeo she was clapping & Dancing along with everyone. She made friends with all the people around her too. The big flirt!

6 Month Check Up!

Later that day Kylie had a birthday party to go too,

however she just had her shots and wasn't very happy! but who can blame her, right!

so this is my only picture I got of her dressed up! Kylie definitely Proved she is a girly girl yet again. first she loved wearing that ring and to my surprise did not try to eat it just kept looking at it. My favorite of that night though had to be when my mom put a real life looking baby doll on her lap she would first touch it's face then bend over and kiss it and not once did she try to eat it. So freakin Cute!

Well My betting didn't go so well, Chris' team did better than mine so now our little girl is a Vikings fan not so bad as long as Favre stays on the team! So Kylie got all decked out to cheer for the Vikings, in her first Vikings tee that Grandpa Russ and Grandma Keiko gave her and Grandma Susie whipped up a skirt to match, however through all that trouble the Vikings just couldn't keep a hold of that ball losing to the Saints in overtime!

When we were younger my family had one of our usual kitchen conversation about what we would like to do before we die. One of Melissa's(my sister) to do items was to drive a Zamboni Machine and she occasionally brought up this idea throughout the years. So for her Birthday with the help of some really terrific people, I was able to make it happen. and boy did Melissa make it a lot of fun first her husband greg escorted her in blind folded when she took off the blind fold the scene she saw was this picture below and she immediately got the gift saying "no way" "really" with her water eye's. as she made her way up the Zamboni, she could not stop laughing to hear the instructions but it wasn't long till she was driving along.

it turned out great! A big Thanks to everyone involved I owe you one.

Pumpkin's first Halloween!

If you can't tell Kylie was a Jack'O'Lantern for her first Halloween.

This was my first attempt at sowing a costume all by myself.

it turned out pretty cute, i think the stump was a little dorky

however Kylie sure made it look good.

I've known Chris now for eight years and i've never seen him dress up for Halloween! until today!! He went as Rod the stuntman off of the movie "Hot Rod" and boy did he look good in my dad's 1970's bell bottom paint get up. He Sure was a trooper, and made it a lot of fun.

My only regret is not everyone one I know got to witness this event!!!

This year our little girl's patriotism is at stake! You see we will buy Kylie the winning team's jersey for next year! In the mean time her mom & dad are already battling for rights. however Vikings won tonight and are still undefeated while my Packers are 2-2. Ouch!
